As the info says you are the closest that a 'big bad' has come to beating Buffy and the scoobies. Buffy actually sacrifices herself to save the world from the evil of Glorificus and is brought back from the dead in season 6 by Willow, Tara and Xander. They pulled her out of heaven which leads her to seek comfort in the arms of Spike. I'll stop there because I could go on forever.

Here's some Buffy related chat for you (because I am a storehouse and it's rare that I get to share my knowledge of BtVS with the world):
Dawn, Buffy's younger sister, is an 'add-on' character. Buffy was an only child until the 5th season of the series when Dawn was introduced. Dawn is what Glorificus (see previous comment) was after: the key to unleashing hell on earth. This key was transformed into human form (Dawn) and sent to Buffy for protection. Whom does one want to protect more than a baby sister? The monks responsible for the transformation were also (quite conveniently) able to change everyone's memories to include Dawn. (This speaks to the genius of Whedon because he was able to keep fans from abandoning the show after the introduction of a brand new character; one that was central to the plot; one that required fans to change their perception of the previous four years of BtVS. Personally, I still resent Dawn for appearing so suddenly but the fans of BtVS are a dedicated bunch.)

Miki. One day I shall bring over my hard drive and give you the first season of Buffy and your fall into the Buffyverse will be swift and complete. Soon you'll be hounding me for the next season and the next season. It will get ugly, then it will be beautiful in that the transformation will be complete. You will be a Buffyfan.
