Last Year. Probably.

It's official. Last week I signed my contract. I'm here for another year. A few months ago I was ready to throw in the towel but now as I sit and type this I'm kinda pumped to spend another year in Japan. I've changed my teaching schedule. I have fewer afternoon classes. Fewer preps. I will be teaching higher level students in a new building. I'll have a new textbook. Javier large as my friend Mac would say.

Will next year be my last year? When I'm asked this question I say that it will be my last in Japan but the word probably always pops up at the end of the sentence no matter how hard I try to stop it. So, I don't know! But whether or not I stay for a fifth year is not something I want to contemplate at 8 o'clock on a Thursday morning. I'll leave that one for the next time I can't fall asleep.
